Canoe & Kayak

Marten River Provincial Park is a great place to explore, whether you’re an experienced canoeist or just getting started. The park itself has numerous bays and long stretches of shoreline to paddle, and as the southern gateway to the Temagami region, there are many more canoeing opportunities close by. Kenny Forest Provincial Park (this is a non-operating park), for example, has a number of large, interconnected lakes that are perfect for a day trip or overnight camping excursion. And for more advanced whitewater enthusiasts, the Temagami River is a great option for either a day trip or an extended expedition. With so many options available, Marten River Provincial Park is a great destination for anyone who enjoys paddling.

Canoe & Kayak Rental

The park runs a TackleShare program which lends out fishing rods and tackle to park visitors.

Trailer storage is available at Marten River.

Canoes, Kayaks, and Stand-up paddleboards are available for rent.

Where to Launch

There are two boat launches in the Chicot Section, one in the Assinka Section, and one near the Marten River entrance.
