Two Narrows Canoe Route
The Two Narrows Canoe Route begins at Halfway Lake and travels south into Bailey Lake. Here, you can see nesting Bald Eagles, a Great Blue Heron rookery, and the origins of the 2007 forest fire. From there, various portages take us deep into heartland park where ground moraines created by glaciers thousands of years ago lie atop rolling bedrock covered in forests dominated by jack pine, white birch & poplar trees; it’s possible to complete the trip within one day but if solitude enthusiast wishes they have interior campsites too! also Dawn and dusk offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.
Antrim Lake Canoe Route
The stunning Antrim Lake is located at the northern edge of this great park. It can be accessed on its east side, just off Highway 144, and offers visitors spectacular scenery, including tall cliffs that offer ample wildlife viewing opportunities for those who enjoy getting up close with nature or taking advantage from a distance away to take picturesque selfies.
